how many bags of concret will it take to fill a patch 3′x3′x4″ at 50lbs. bags?
I need to repair a patch of side walk 3′x3′x4″ aprox. and i need to know how much concrete to use by because im not sure how to figure it out? I need to know how many bags i will need and what size bags to use.
You will need 4.5 80lbs. Quikrete bags. Also, buy yourself a bag of Portland Cement and mix in about a quarter of it into the four and a half bags of Quikrete. Quikrete is good but is always low on cement, or some bags have more than others. Finaly, depending on where you live you might want to stabalize the ground on which your pouring the concrete. You can do this by mixing two 80lbs bags of playsand with a quarter bag of the Portland cement and then pour it in the patch, afterward get it wet with some water and wait overnight for it to set up. You don’t need to mix it with water before placing it. This will give you a nice firm ground on which to place the concrete. When you mix the Quikrete, make sure not to use too much water either. You want just enough to make the concrete hold it’s shape, think cold ground meat. Hope this helps you.
